DD Mosley

Founder Northern Queen Productions

Born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Baltimore, DD Mosley is a writer, director, and producer dedicated to bringing Afrofuturist-centered stories to the screen. A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, she later earned her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Minnesota and went on to receive her MFA in Screenwriting from Stephens College.

DD is an alum of the Stowe Story Labs and a finalist for the Women in Film Screenwriting Fellowship. She has also been selected for the prestigious Writers Guild Foundation Veterans Writing Fellowship. As a passionate advocate for storytelling and creative community, she previously served as Vice President of the Minnesota Screenwriters’ Workshop and is an active member of Minnesota Women in Film and Television.

Her work has been supported by the Minnesota Humanities Center through a grant for the Minnesota Afrofuturism Media Project, with fiscal sponsorship from MCN6 Television. She has written, directed, and produced two short films, Impossible Shot and A Night at the Cabin, and currently has two feature-length projects in development under her company, Northern Queen Productions.

DD lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two sons, and continues to create bold, imaginative films rooted in Black futures, spirituality, and resilience.
